Grilling Tofu

photo from cookeasyvegan.blogspot.com
Grilling tofu is better than frying it. Grilling makes it more flavorful and nutritious too. I wasn't able to take a photo of the tofu I grilled so I just got one from the Web that looks similar to what I cooked. :)
Before grilling tofu, it's better to marinade it first. Here are the basic ingredients I use for marinading; soy sauce, brown sugar, ground pepper, sesame oil, leeks. You could also add ground cinnamon, chili powder, minced onion and garlic, citrus, and whatever suits your taste.

Use a non-stick flat grilling pan, or you could also use a barbeque griller, and cook the sliced tofu on both sides, while basting it with the marinade sauce.

After cooking all the tofu, you can use the marinade sauce as its sauce, just add 2-3 parts of water and cornstarch to thicken it. You can cook the sauce separately, or you can put the tofu back in a hot pan, and put the sauce to make it sizzle. When the sauce thickens, you can remove the dish from the pan.

Place the tofu in a serving plate, and garnish with parsley or chopped fresh leeks.
